Chicken Curry (Homestyle) — homemade Indian dish from The Curry Creations, New Jersey

What is Chicken Curry?

Homestyle chicken curry is the dish most Indian families think of when they think of a Sunday lunch at home. It isn't the rich, cream-heavy curry of restaurant menus. It's the simpler, everyday version: tender chicken cooked slowly in a gravy of onions, tomatoes and warm home-style spices until the flavours come together.

At The Curry Creations it's our single most-ordered dish. It's familiar, comforting and satisfying without being heavy.

Cooked in 100% olive oil

Never vegetable oil or palm oil. No preservatives, no artificial colours.

Best served with

Steamed basmati rice or warm roti. Both are available as sides with your weekly order. It also goes well alongside a dal or a dry vegetable dish from the same week's menu.

Allergens

No added nuts or sesame. Our kitchen also handles nuts, sesame and dairy, so please message us about any allergy before ordering.

Storage & heating

Keeps up to 5 days in the fridge or up to 5 weeks frozen on the day of delivery. Containers are not microwave-safe — heat in a pan or on a plate.

How we cook our Chicken Curry

Like every dish from our kitchen, it's cooked fresh in small batches in 100% olive oil, never vegetable oil or palm oil, with no preservatives, no artificial colours and no shortcuts. The gravy is built the traditional way, starting with onions, tomatoes and whole spices, then the chicken simmers in it until tender.

It's packed hot into a 16 oz biodegradable container and delivered the same weekend it's cooked.

Chicken Curry — FAQs

What makes a homestyle chicken curry different from a restaurant curry? +
Restaurant curries usually lean on cream, butter and a lot of oil. A homestyle curry is lighter. The flavour comes from onions, tomatoes and spices cooked down slowly, the way it's made in Indian homes every day. Ours is cooked in olive oil with no preservatives.
How spicy is it? +
Like all our dishes, it's cooked with balanced Indian flavours. It's warm and aromatic but not overly spicy, so most people enjoy it as it comes.
How long does it keep, and how do I reheat it? +
It keeps up to 5 days in the fridge, or up to 5 weeks if you freeze it on the day of delivery. Our containers aren't microwave-safe, so tip it into a pan or onto a plate and heat until piping hot.
