Langar Wali Dal
The simple, soulful dal served in Punjabi gurudwaras
Not on the menu this week. Our menu changes every week, so check what's cooking now. Plans from $68 a week.

What is Langar Wali Dal?
Langar wali dal is inspired by the dal served in the langar, the free community kitchen at Sikh gurudwaras, where everyone sits together to share the same simple meal. It's made with lentils slow-cooked with very few spices, so the flavour comes from patience rather than richness.
It's simple, soulful and deeply nourishing, and one of the most-ordered dals at The Curry Creations.
Cooked in 100% olive oil
Never vegetable oil or palm oil. No preservatives, no artificial colours.
Best served with
Steamed basmati rice or warm roti, both available as sides with your weekly order. A dry vegetable dish like gobhi aloo or methi aloo goes well alongside.
Allergens
No added nuts or sesame. Our kitchen also handles nuts, sesame and dairy, so please message us about any allergy before ordering.
Storage & heating
Keeps up to 5 days in the fridge or up to 5 weeks frozen on the day of delivery. Containers are not microwave-safe — heat in a pan or on a plate.
How we cook our Langar Wali Dal
We slow-cook the lentils until soft and creamy, with minimal spices, the way it's made in a langar kitchen. It's cooked in olive oil with no butter or cream, so our langar wali dal is vegan.
It contains no preservatives, is packed hot into a 16 oz biodegradable container, and delivered the same weekend it's cooked.
