Matar Paneer — homemade Indian dish from The Curry Creations, New Jersey

What is Matar Paneer?

Matar paneer is one of the classic North Indian curries: soft cubes of paneer (fresh Indian cheese) and sweet green peas in a tomato and onion gravy spiced with cumin, coriander, turmeric and garam masala.

It's comforting, mildly spiced and loved by children and adults alike, which is why it's a regular on Indian family dinner tables and one of the most-ordered paneer dishes at The Curry Creations.

Cooked in 100% olive oil

Never vegetable oil or palm oil. No preservatives, no artificial colours.

Best served with

Warm roti or steamed basmati rice, both available as sides with your weekly order.

Allergens

No added nuts or sesame. Our kitchen also handles nuts, sesame and dairy, so please message us about any allergy before ordering.

Storage & heating

Keeps up to 5 days in the fridge or up to 5 weeks frozen on the day of delivery. Containers are not microwave-safe — heat in a pan or on a plate.

How we cook our Matar Paneer

We build the gravy from onions and tomatoes with cumin, coriander, turmeric and garam masala, then simmer the peas and paneer in it.

Like every dish from our kitchen, it's cooked in 100% olive oil with no preservatives, packed hot into a 16 oz biodegradable container, and delivered the same weekend it's cooked.

Matar Paneer — FAQs

What is paneer? +
Paneer is a fresh, mild Indian cheese that holds its shape when cooked. It soaks up the flavour of the gravy it's cooked in.
Is matar paneer vegetarian? +
Yes. It's vegetarian. Because it contains paneer (cheese), it isn't vegan.
How long does it keep, and how do I reheat it? +
It keeps up to 5 days in the fridge, or up to 5 weeks if you freeze it on the day of delivery. Our containers aren't microwave-safe, so heat it in a pan or on a plate until piping hot.
